Letter of the Week: Bb

For our letter Bb activities, she.....
Put pom pom magnets on her B Butterfly sheet.
I didn't expect Marin to really get into this one but she loved it.
Played with it every day this week.

She put Ball stickers on the Bb.
Another activity I didn't think she would like but she LOVED it.
We put stickers on the Bb all week long.

We ate read Brown Bear Brown Bear.

I found this really cute Brown Bear I Spy game.
I thought Marin would love it....a shaker and markers.
Didn't show any interest at all in it. :o)

But here it is. The Brown Bear characters are in the bottle. Shake it and color the animal you see
on the I Spy sheet.
The printouts are here

We counted Bugs.
The game board is here

Put Beans in a Bottle.
She loved this one.

Blew some BUBBLES!

And gave her baby a bubble bath!

Letter A: Animals and Artists

More Aa week pictures.....
A is for Animal Puzzle Sort: I put all the puzzle pieces in a bag and she pulled them out  and put them on the correct puzzle.

We read some art books from the library and then used watercolors to paint the Van Gogh Starry Night outline. I got the outline here.  She had SO MUCH FUN using the watercolors.

Showing Dad her hard work.

A little story time with Daddy....Mouse Paint.

She did want to drink the paint water. YUCK!

Letter A: Alligators, Apples, and Ark

Here are some of the Aa activities we have done so far.....
A is for Alligator: Sand Art
The alligator came from here.

She LOVED the sand. She is real into textures right now so this was perfect fun for her to shake and then feel the sand.

A little apple color matching. I got this from the Confessions of a Homeschooler Letter of the Week Curriculum.
She didn't really care about matching them but she LOVED pointing with the big google eye popsicle pointer.

Our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom ABC handprint tree. We will add letter stickers each week.

A is for Noah's Ark. She used the animal stamps to put them in the ark.

She likes the stamps. :o)

Our Little Learning Corner

So the teacher in me gets all inspired and motivated to do educational things this time of the year when I see all my teacher friends going back to school. And now that Marin is a bit older and actually enjoys some different activities, I started planning and pinning all kinds of ideas on Pinterest. I decided to start doing Letter of the Week activities with her. We will go through the alphabet each week doing activities, books, games, etc with each letter.  I set up a little corner of the playroom with our books, a few Dollar tree posters, and our music basket. They even have a letter of the week toy basket with toys that start with the letter. :o) Although Marin does have fun, she is still 19 months old and has the attention span of a flea and as long as Hollis can chew on something she is happy. So I'm pretty sure I have much more fun planning this stuff than either one of them. Here is our little corner.....

Our little song time is probably both of their favorites. I found some really cute props here  to go with  some of our songs. This is one is for Down by the Bay....have you ever seen a llama eating their pajamas?

Five little ducks went swimming one day......
