Tot School: Week 3

So we did a LOT of traveling in September. A LOT. So week 3 lasted about three weeks and was a bit sporadic. But we did get a little done.

Week Three:
Letter : Cc
Number: 3
Shape: Circle
Color: Yellow

 Our baskets:
1. Cloud Dough Cupcakes
2. Cat and Cupcakes Game
3. Color Cube Game
4. Tangram puzzles Cat and Cow

Our Board

Doing their yellow circle in their Handy Dandy Notebooks. :o)

A cute little cupcake poem and game. We read the book, they matched the cupcakes, then fed them to the cat.
Hollis loved this one.
I would find the cat and the cupcakes all around the house. :o)

Our color cube game was a Christmas present last year. They rolled the cube and did the activity on the correct colored card. There are several cards in each color but I chose a set few to make it a little less "chaotic".
This was a Marin favorite.
You can find the game here.
Coud dough cupcakes.
This was by far the favorite activity of both girls.
So very messy but so very fun.

4 cups flour
1 cup vegetable oil
1 crushed up leftover red piece of sidewalk chalk

It feels like sand but can be molded any way you want.

We read My Car and used a car to paint over the letter Cc.
Loved this one. Turned out really cute.

This was out for a while...but they played with corn in the table.

We made cupcakes with sprinkles.

Then we watched our caterpillars form a chrysalis....

And then watched our new butterflies fly around!

Setting our butterflies free.
Hollis was real into it, can't you tell?? :o)

Letter Ff

Letter Ff for
FALL!

Fall sensory box...
found the big magnifying glass and it is a big hit.

Corn, acorns, pine cones, leaves, gourds, and a few jack o lanterns. :o)

We made Pumpkin Ooey Gooey Bars.
Yummy!

She couldn't wait to get them off the mixer so she licked them on the mixer.

Loves using the mixer (and cracking the eggs).

She is saying "ooooooh".

They didn't last long.

A fall nature walk to collect leaves.

She needed her magnifying glass.

Love the colors of fall!

We went to a Fall Festival and she got to see turtles (and hear some music, make a corn husk doll, and play with puppets.)

We matched football helmets and jerseys by color.
Ff = football :o)

She painted and decorated her pumpkin.

Obsessed with glue.

We have a few more fall projects to do and then we are going to do some Halloween stuff! Can't wait!

Letter of the Week: Cc

Our Letter Cc activities were a little short and quick because we went on vacation.
But here they are...cupcakes, colors, cars, caterpillar critters,  and creation!

We made cupcakes! Then put food coloring in the batter and swirled with
a toothpick to make Color Swirl Cupcakes. She LOVED using the blender.
But cracking the eggs were her favorite.
She just used her toothpick as a spoon.

Creation Collage!
The caption is a little small but we read the Bible story of God creating the world.
Then she used paint, stickers, foam, magazine pictures, and stamps to show everything God created.
She sat and did this for a long, long time. Loved it!

Color Rice (or Rainbow Rice)
Very MESSY but easy to make and she loves it.
I'm going to have to get a cheap shower curtain or something for her to play on because the rice gets
EVERYWHERE.
But worth it.

We did the stickers and pom pom magnets from the Letter of the Week Curriculum  at Confessions  of a Homeschooler.

I made this Color Clip game for the airplane ride for our vacation.
She didn't care about them at all then.
But she dragged them out the other night and we clipped the colored pom pom clips on the correct
color circle.
